With support from START Fund Bangladesh, has stepped forward to assist farming families in the haor region of Kishoreganj who have been severely affected by the recent flash floods.
Under the initiative titled “Emergency Humanitarian Assistance Project for People Affected by Flash Floods (ALERT-B072),” direct assistance is being provided to a total of 1,225 affected farming families in Itna and Ostagram upazilas of Kishoreganj district. Relief materials and cash assistance are being distributed in Mriga, Joysiddhi, Dhonpur, and Badla unions under Itna upazila, as well as Abdullahpur and Purba Ostagram unions under Ostagram upazila.
As part of the multipurpose cash assistance package, each affected family is receiving BDT 6,000. In addition, every household is being provided with 100 kg (two bags) of cattle feed to support affected livestock, along with one high-quality 12 × 15-foot tarpaulin for emergency shelter and protection.
